Young Friends of Dred Scott

In the Spring of 2010 a new group called Young Friends of Dred Scott joined the Foundation.  We are very excited to have this group of individuals participate in the celebration of Dred and Harriet's legacy.

This mission of Young Friends is
1.  To promote the education and reconciliation aspect of the organization
2.  To support fundraising efforts.

They will plan three events a year that will either promote the foundation or provide an educational opportunity for the community.

On Saturday, March 27, along with 29 other organizations, they participated in the Community Action Fair at the Missouri History Museum from 10:00 am.m - 3:00 p.m.  It was their public debut as Young Friends of Dred Scott.  The Missouri History Museum has been a member of the Friends of Dred Scott since January 2006.

Their first educational effort was a tour of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield IL, on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

Their next educational effort is a tour of the Holocaust Museum & Learning Center in St. Louis, MO.
